Step into a world where adventure knows no bounds, where portraits tell tales of daring explorers, distant lands, and boundless imagination. Welcome to Keirabald 2025, a portrait competition celebrating the remarkable talent of students from Balgownie, Coniston, Fairy Meadow, Mt Ousley, Pleasant Heights, and Wollongong Public Schools, alongside the emerging artists Year 7 students of Keira High School. Inspired by the prestigious Archibald Prize, Keirabald invites you to discover stories painted with passion and creativity.
This year, in honour of the 80th anniversary of Children’s Book Week, Keirabald explores the theme Adventures Through Time, Lands, and Imagination. Inspired by Book an Adventure, this exhibition celebrates the spirit of exploration, storytelling, and artistic discovery. Each portrait unveils a journey—whether through history, across cultures, or into realms of fantasy—capturing the essence of adventure in bold and expressive ways.
Join us for the unveiling of this year's captivating creations at the Keirabald Exhibition, opening on Thursday, 8th May 2025, at 5:30 pm at Project Contemporary Artspace, Wollongong. Witness the talent and vision of young artists as they bring their adventurous portraits to life.
Don't miss this inspiring celebration of creativity — see you there!
